Exclusive: Cana for captain

 

The Albanian international, 26, who also captains his country, arrived on Wearside as one of Steve Bruce's first signings and he's certainly impressed since.

Known for his no-nonsense tackling and never-say-die attitude, Cana has already cemented a place in the heart of Sunderland's workroom and rarely plays less than the full 90 minutes, even with a broken hand.

Sunderland's new skipper was Steve Bruce's third signing since taking over at the Stadium of Light, the deal going through at half-time during the pre-season friendly against Atletico Madrid in Amsterdam with the Albanian arriving from Olympique de Marseille on a four-year deal.

aku masok uitm ni tahun 2006 kot... julai... masok amek pre-law... sblum masok pre-law... sume tempat aku mohon.. ahahah.. form 6 ade, matrix ade, tp dpt 2 tahun.. hayat beb.. ahaha.. kalo x dh jd doktor dh.. hahaha.. masok je pre-law.. aku ingt lg waktu mms yg agak memenatkan.. haha.. pastu rumate aku lpas mms.. roy,siddiq,afif,amri,tuak,moris,fendi, ntah sapa lg.. hahaha.. shah pon dh jd kan bilik tu mcm bilik die dh.. hahaha bnyk knangan beb.. antaranya... hahaha jeng3:

Bent loving every minute!

Darren Bent says he's "loving every minute" of his time with Sunderland after getting off to a goal-filled start to the season. Bent currently stands joint-top of the club's goal-scoring charts with two strikes in three games - level with strike partner Kenwyne Jones.
Steve Bruce left his £10m signing at home for the Carling Cup trip to Norwich, but such is Bent's motivation he was itching to play at Carrow Road.

People needed a game tonight.  The lads who've come into the team tonight have been itching to play, and I'm absolutely delighted with the result and some of the performances.
Andy Reid's done extremely well with his fitness and conditioning - he's come back and lost something like nine kilos from last year.  All he can do is play like that and he's posed a few questions.
That's the nice part of management, when you've got people knocking on the door, so we'll see what happens.
We think Fraizer's going to be okay after the injury late on.  He's got a sore elbow, a bad head and a bad wrist and collarbone, but we think he'll be okay.  He's a bit bashed and bruised.  He looked electric in the first half and he'll be a big player for us.
It was the first time I've seen Craig Gordon live and he made two or three wonderful saves.  We were comfortable but the goalkeeper's had to make a couple of really important saves.
And of course Paulo Da Silva made his debut.  The more the game went on, the more assured he looked and he'll be a good player for us, that's for sure.
You can see why he's captained his country and he'll be fine once he's mastered the language.
